Question about Nigerians and ebay...

Okay so cliff notes. I put a laptop up for sale earlier this week. A Nigerian person bought it and wanted it shipped to nigeria. Even though in my listing, I had said US shipping only!!!

So I just re-list the item. And add in big bold letters about the nigerian scammers and how I won't ship there.

Laptop sells the 2nd time fine. But.... Now ebay is being a pain in the *** and not refunding my fee's from the 1st sale. They say since they suspended the nigerian guy, that its my choice to go through with the sale, OR file an unpaid item dispute to get the credit back.

Can you believe this crap? I shouldn't have to jump through hoops and waste my time because some dumb scammer from Nigeria.

done with eBay selling for good.

It takes all of 2 min. to file the dispute and you get an instant credit since he was kicked. 🙂

Maybe it does take 2 mins, but should people really even have to go through the trouble? Should it be ebays job to detect these people and once reported, automatically refund fees to sellers.

I just find it crap. oh well lock it up.

Ebay is simply greedy, and shows no concern for its customers. At the present time, they've pretty much got the market cornered, so they can get away with it.

Yes, just fill it in and be done with it.

Bottom line, ebay has grown to the point where they simply don't give a ratts butt about what someone thinks. They don't care that ebay is being flooded with these kinds of scams, but they're going to start caring when they start getting competition. It might take a while, but as more and more people start having problems with ebay and paypal other similar companies will emerge. Maybe Google, they seem to want to get into every conceivable business on the internet.....

BTW, your earlier thread was most likely locked due to the way you spelled Ebay. Using "gay" in a derogatory way has been the cause of some Bannings. Keep that in mind.

thanks. I'll have to keep that in mind. However, I don't think it was in a derogatory way. I've seen that done time after time on forums including this one.

Its a way of bashing ebay and not homosexuals themselves. At any rate, I'll keep that in mind.

Meg Whitman loves Nigerians. They inflate eb*y's sales numbers and profit from members who don't file complaints.
