That's your heat level. Once it fills up, you're at level 2. Once it fills up again, you're at level 3. There should be a number near it.

the more heat the more pissy the cops get. eventually they actually try to stop you.

Agreed ;) . Its the only good game i think EA did this year.If EA was able to put as much quality in their other products as they did in this one, they would be a better compagny then they are atm.

Spike Traps are heat level 4 ... that's when the police evasions start getting fun. They are pretty challenging (at least for me) at heat level 5, with cops driving corvettes :)

The thing that always ends up getting me busted are the damned SUV's that come out of nowhere and Ram me, stopping me long enough for all the cops to swarm around me so i can't move.

soon as you see them hit your slow mo... gives you time to deal with them...
same when you see a roadblock.. immediatly hit slowmo and find where the strip is and then adjust...

also! very important.... the EASIEST place in the game to run pursuits for long periods is the interstate that circles the starting area...

wide roads with plety of room for topspeed pursuits and roadblocks cant go all the way across the road... can run indefinatly...
then when you get your needed milestones/bounty use the staduim to kill everything behind you and then hide on first base...
they cant see you there...

works great just make sure helo is not up when you go to end the pursuit..

I like the highway, but with a fast enough car with top notch handling does awesome in the city. STI FTW :D

P.S. Given the popularity of NFS:MW topics, I think I'm gonna startup a central thread for discussion :)

heh.. STI.. please..
Ford GT with every ultimate part... = dead anything else..
and stack the custom (junkman) supercharger and engine for extreme overkill.
second fave is my galardo all ultimate as well..
super super fast and razor sharp handleing..

230 mph top end on highway.. faster than the helo

I guess I just suck, becasue I haven't seen anything hit 230 :) And I find the handling of the gallardo to be lacking, I'm not sure why people like them so much. I wouldn't go so far as to say the Gallardo handles "badly" but there are several cars that felt better to me...

yikes man.. teh gallardo is like the best handleing car in the game.. didnt even have to put any blue parts into it..

i have to try very hard to over drift this car or even hit a wall.. just come off the power the slightest bit and it corrects...

love it..
my best run in it is 12 mins agaisnt rank 5 cops... evaded and earned 1.7 million bounty
the GT is more of a brute compared to it but it still handles like a dream.

by the way have you "tuned" any of your cars?
230 is pretty easy to get on one of the top 5 cars if you tune for topend.

No... i really haven't tuned the cars. When I tried, I was always less happy with how they drove than before I messed with them ( i only tried a few times ) so I just stuck with the default tunings.
