hi

i just got my first nf4 mobo and i have no idea what voltage to give the nf4 chipset in order to reach stability at 290-300 HTT.
if anyone can help i would appreciate it.

Just leave it at default, as long as you're not getting any stability issues... Normally (but YMMV of course) a 300MHz HTT should be possible at stock chipset voltage... What mobo do you have?

Default: 1.5V
Max: Usually around 1.7V

Check with Prime95 or OCCT to ensure complete stability...

thanks for the response,

i got the msi k8n neo4 platinum, i have the cpu at 290 htt, nf4 at default, ram corsair 3200xl with 166 divider at 2.5-3-3-6. i have not given the pc chance to prime for 24 hrs but i tested it with 32M superpi and it went alright, but last night it gave me a bsod after like 10 hours of being on and im not sure what caused it.

i really dont want the mobo to be the problem, im sure its not the cpu since i had it going 24/7 at 290htt on my neo2 plat. it came to my mind that it could've been the crappy video card (asus 6200tc, overclocked it to get a little more performance since i'll be using it until r580) or the psu (old antec truepower 480, not 24 pin).

any ideas?

Hmm, IMO it could be your RAM... These are nice sticks, but according to my calculation, they're running at over 240MHz at the moment... Try giving them just a little more volt, or slightly up the timings... Your tRAS (the latest number) has no real-world effect, so make a 7 or 8 of that 6 and it could be stable...

Or you could first try to up the Chipset Voltage, it may work as well... Try this one first... Upping to 1.6V may already work, otherwise, 1.7V is not deadly so... Test thoroughly... Try Memtest86 as well...

BTW have the same mobo... Just love it! My max was 332MHz HTT with a Venice 3000+ (but I didn't need to up the Chipset Voltage for that)...
