i want the new xps m1530, but I really want to have the option to switch back to xp pro if i want to. my only concern is the drivers. Do they make xp compatible drivers for all laptop function buttons and other jazz?

Since a Dell rep told me that getting XP wasnt an option, i guess this who thing isnt an issue. But if i recall correctly, people who get Vista business or Ultimate have the option to "downgrade" to xp pro.

any ideas?

Dell is offering the XP option to certain desktop and laptop models in the US. Don't know about the XPS M1530. It's worth being opersistent about.

"Dell manager Lionel Menchaca noted the complaint on his Dell blog and announced customers can now purchases XP Home or Pro on certain Dimension desktops and Inspiron notebooks. The models are: Dimension E520 and E521 desktops, and Inspiron 1501, E1405, E1505, and E1705 notebooks. The XP option is available only to US customers."
