Question about network share folder, when user log on the local pc everytime & need to access network shared folder on the remote server,

how do u make the user on local pc access the remote server network share folder without entering the password ?

I see 2 options

1. add local user login/passwd on the server and define his rights
2. Have the remote server login/passwd the same as local pc. (only for 1 user, still need to use #1 if there are mulitple user)

btw, isn't it a hassle if the remote pc share a lot of folder and have serveral users, and u need to add a bunch of user name & password manually if the user on the remote server ?

pls advise, thanks in advance.

You can only do #1 if you have a domain setup I believe.
#2 is your only real option unless you setup a lot of infrastructure.

It's not a hassle if you use groups, you still have to move people in and out of groups to define access but it's part of the maintenance of file shares and you can't avoid it.

is there a specific way to set the permisions for that ? i have 3 comps that all use the same logon\password and the first time i connect ,( if i've rebooted since the last time) i need to re-enter the info.

Sorry I don't use Windows much any more but I've never seen it do that, as long as the username/password combo is the same it should just work.
