Question about Netflix

In general, does Netflix rent out the newest releases (or give you the option of which release you want) or do they just offer the older or no frills editions. For example, if I rented office space, would I receive the original non-anamorphic edition or would I receive the latest special edition?

It varies. Ive recieved both older and newer versions of movies from them, and there is no option on the site to specify.

Ive never recieved a Superbit though.

Sometimes they'll advertise the extended edition specifically, but never an option for straight DVD movie or DVD with extras. Sometimes I've gotten DVDs that have their logo on them, and this funky grey-ish styling on it, so I think they have the ability to make their own DVDs for replacements.

u don't get the option. sometimes they just carry the newer one. wizard of oz special edition for instance. there was an old barebones release long ago too, but i rented the new one from em just a week ago
