Question about Need For Speed Most Wanted Black Edition

I despite having to put in like 6 freakin' CDs just to install a damn game; yes I'm that lazy. It irritates me that mfrs haven't switched to all DVDs yet, you know the cost difference is miniscule on that large of a scale. :mad; Another day, another rant

Anyway, I want to get Need For Speed Most Wanted but I'm unsure if there is a version that has the game itself on a single DVD. The Black Edition I saw in store said PC-CD with bonus DVD. I can't find specific confirmation online at all.

Does the game come on CD format only and if so, how many CDs is it? Thanks!!

EDIT GoGamer lists the platform as "PC DVDROM" and for requirements it says 12x DVDROM. But the box looks the same as the one I saw in BBY, including the "PC-CD with bonus DVD" on it. SO WHICH IS IT???

i remember that only some versions (euro and asia) come on a dvd. US gets 4 cds w/ bonus dvd. i havent seen an nfs most wanted with just 1 dvd...maybe its because not all people have dvd drives? i have no clue.

The one that says PC-CD with bonus DVD is the following:

The GAME ITSELF is on 4-CD-ROM discs (4-to-install, one to play).

There is a "Bonus DVD" that has some garbage on it you probably don't care about... in other words, the DVD in the "Black Edition" is worthless, and it's really just a 4-CD-ROM game.

It'd be nice if we could get it off the store shelf in DVD-only format like some other games.

Dangit, that's a biotch. I got COD2 on CD 'cuz it was $25 @ BBY on BF, but damn I wish I'd spent the $10 more @ GoGamer for DVD version. Big thing is I use these games to benchmark laptops and if I'd known COD2 was 6 CDs and not like 4, I'd have never gotten it. :roll: Lazy bastard companies, anyone who games has a freakin' DVDROM!!!!!

Agreed... I try to get everygame in DVD-ROM format if I can... I just got Quake4-DVD-ROM from GoGamer on a 48-hour special... sweet.

Unfortunately, I asked for NFS:MW for X-Mas and my wife unwittingly purchased the local Walmart CD-ROM version... oh well.
