All the review sites clain the ramsinks are copper but mine are not very heavy and feel like plastic. I have the powercoler x1950xtx.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I take it not many people have the 1950xtx or they don't know.

RAMsinks? Doesn't it just use the squishy spacers like the X1900XT/XTX before it to connect to the heatsink?

I have the powercolor one and it does have copper ramsinks. If you are talking about the large copper color heatsink that covers all the ram chips.

Well the main cooler over the chip is copper, but I shaved a bit off the heatsink that covers the ram and it is plastic, it has copper inserts right over each ram chip but the heatsink is plastic. it looks cooper for sure but it seems to just be paint, the same goes for the sink on the voltage chips.

there are 3 pieces to the 1950 sink, one main one that has a heatpipe for the chip, and it is heavy and it is copper, then it has a seperate one over all the ram, it plastic and once over the voltage chips witch is also plastic.

LOL! a plastic heatsink! What other "Innovations" will Ati & partners come up with? (Yes, I know GDDR4 doesn't run as hot as GDDR3, but if the heatsink isn't needed why not simply leave it off?)

Plastic! Pretty lame... the Ram-sink & VR sink on my HIS X1900XTX are copper colored aluminum, but plastic?!?

I wonder if its just a Powercolor thing or if its the same with all the 1950's?

Actually, I just installed a 1950XTX in my system and remembered this thread when I did. I took a look, and know what you're talking about - there are small heatsinks and they looked a bit too shiny too me - copper colored, but probably plastic with embossing on top.

Of course as long as it works well, I don't really care.

For looks. I mean, the 7800GTX's black card covering wasn't exactly needed but it sure did look damn good.

Are you sure it's plastic and not aluminum? Those voltage regulators would melt pretty quick without a functional heatsink...

It's probably just a poorly cast material, which would give you the impression of a plastic texture. The face that mates with the RAM is likely lapped.
