Question about my W-4 form regarding full-time student status

I seem to remember claiming exemption since I'm a full time student, does this still hold true? I see no mention of it on the W-4 I have to fill out... I want to make sure I do it correctly 😉

I always thought the exemptions are done on the yearly tax forms.

Actually,
Under the section that allows for me to claim exemtion says I qualify for it if "I had no tax liability last year" and "I expect to have no tax liability this year"...again, do I qualify for it if I'm a full time student? 😕

I've filled out all my previous W-4's as exempt since I've always been a student, but I want to make sure I've been doing the correct thing... 🙂

Well, did you and do you? If yes to both, then claim it.

CPA - that's my question, am I exempt? I *am* a fulltime student. But my question is, does that qualify my for exemption?

Did you pay taxes last year?

Do you expect to pay taxes this year?

If the answer is no to both then you could claim exempt.
