Question about my video driver update

I have an Asus V6800 GeForce Deluxe DDR video card that's currently running the Asus 3.something drivers and I'm looking at installing the Nvidia 6.50 drivers. My question is, do I have to remove the Asus drivers before installing the Nvidia drivers.

While it may not be nessasary, you should first switch to standard PCI display adaptor first, then reboot. Then install the new drivers by pointing to where they are located.

<< Its a good idea to remove them first. >>

definitely remove them. just go into 'update driver' and switch it to VGA, reboot, then 'update driver' again and pick the new ones.

Okay, I think I understand what you guys are saying. When I said "remove" I meant actually deleting them from the system, as in going to the add/remove programs box and blowing them away. But what your telling me is that, that is not necessary, just un-assign them, keeping them on the system, and re-assign the new drivers. Have I got it now?
