I am running a duron 800@1000mhz on an Asus A7V. I am using the globalwin Fop-38 and regular white Thermal Grease. My idle temp is around 42-44c and my full load never reaches above 48c. These numbers seem a bit high to me and I have read that the A7V reads higher then most other socket A boards. can you guys give me a general idea of what a 48degree mark on the A7V would equal on lets say the Abit Kt7? I see alot of posts about people with about the same setup as mine except they are idleing at about 36c and maxing out at about 44c. To include more info for you my Motherboard temp reads at 30c almost all the time. Are my temps ok? I also believe I read if you stay under 50c you will be fine, well mine never reaches that high so hopefully it will be ok?

Your temps are fine... In general, a kt7 would probably read 40-45C.

You might want to add some case cooling to drop the 30C mb temp, but overall you're still fine.

no problemo with your case temps!!

My KT7 board gives temp of 48C at full load and aprox.41C idel..sometimes even lower if I let it sit for a long time.

Oh..my CPU is Duron700@928Mhz with a Hedgehog heatsink wiht Delta fan.

My case temp is max at around 30C, usually around 27C.

I have a big size mid-tower all aluminium case with 2 fans in and 2 fans out. The other heat generating devices in order of heat are:
GeForce2MX
IBM 45G hard disk
Plextor 12/10/32 IDE
SBLive! chip (yeh...it gets quite hot)

Mine needed 1.85 volts. I can get it to boot at 1050 If I use 10.0x10 multiplier and 105 FSB. It however gets registry errors alot though. I think my Harddrive which is a Maxtor doesnt like the odd bus speed. My only reccommendation to you is to get a nice HSF because these little suckers run hot!! Other then that just take it up from 800 in 50 mhz increments untill you get desired results. Also hope for a little luck and you might make 1100mhz : )
