I already have a wireless network at home that works fine, but my brother who just got a laptop for his job, doesn't have a wireless network card. He doesn't want to pay 80$CAN just to get one. So now I'm trying to figure out what i can do ... I thought that because my computer is connected wirelessly to the router, I can connect my bro's laptop to it which would be then sharing the connection. So I bought a crossed network cable and tried connecting the two computers. My computer instantly recognised that i had a new connection somewhere. But because my bro has Windows NT (a very castrated version of it), I really don't know what to do at his end. So now I'm asking for your help people. What should I do (and i need details ... cuz i suck at networking).
Thx in advance,
Justin

PS : I did post this in the networking forum .... but no one answered

What OS are you running on your machine? IIRC, everything from 98SE upward has ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) built in.

Basically, you need your system to be both a client (to wireless) and a server (to your brother).

if he had winXP, could he bridge the LAN/Wifi connections as a seperate network segment to get the other PC online?
