Question About my BIOS Update

ok i have a gigabyte GA-K8N ultra 9 mobo.

i went to update my BIOS from F3 to F6 and after the first step "reading the bios from floppy" it said "Checksum : E400" I had never got this message before when updating my BIOS so obviously I didnt update it, because I didnt want to update to a BIOS with an error.

Under the F6 description on the gigabyte site it said that this BIOS "Update some DDR manual timing item on CMOS setup"

So would this mean I would have to clear my CMOS or something?

Because this new BIOS obviously involves new changes for the memory timing settings.

I would just rather be safe about this
