Look at this pic of the inside of an Antec sx830. What is the purple thing in the front of the case, behind the 2 fan mounts? I have one and can't figure out what I'm supposed to do with it. hehe I hope it isn't something real obvious, and I look a little slow.

It is just a clip to hold 80mm fans so you don't have to screw them into the case. AKA faster mounting.

It's a support bracket for full-length cards. If you had some dinosaurian isa or pci card you just couldn't live without, the end would be supported. Check out the wares at a used computer/parts place, they're hard to find even there. Part of being backward- compatible.

Yeah looking at it now it matches up with the slots. Very wierd. I have owned many ISA cards in my day, but none were even close to that long. That would be some card..

Hey I still have an old (ancient even) Hercules graphics card that was long enough to reach those brackets. You just had to love those vid cards for monochrome monitors. I dropped that pupy in my original IBM PC from 1983. That thing screamed with MS Flight Simulator.:D

Okay cool, but then why does the manual say that three fans can be installed towards the front of the fan??? Did anyone else realize the labelling in the manual sucked? Good tower, bad manual...:|

I try to install the Voodoo 5500 AGP last night on my Antec Sx1030.
The card was so long, I had to remove the bottom drive cage. The Voodoo also block my ATA 100 connector.

Hm, do I want to keep my ATA 100 or the long AGP Card.

The AGP card is going, going, and gone.

Remember what is it?
Busmastering ISA?
or eisa?
I think i had a extended IDE controller with memory on it that was really long, a while back.
Kinda usless today.
