No, I'm not illegaly downloading music.
That said, I have a question. As I sit here at work (a radio farm) and listen to one song out of our collection (Heck, it has to be atleast 100,000 songs), I wonder is it illegal.
My question is where does the legality end?
I'm listening to a song to which I do not personally have the license. It's similar to listening to music of a friend's.
Can I listen to it legally at work when it's not being played? When it is? Can the song leave the premises? Ever? If so can I take it home? If not, can I only listen to it on property owned by the radio station? Can I only listen to it while I am on the clock, and therefore a part of my company?
I'm not actually going to take the music, I get 4 CDs free each week from work (to which I then have the license), so I have most of the famous songs we play anyway. I'm just wondering about the specifics of the law.
