Question about music and legality

amol

Lifer
I bought a couple of tracks off of iTunes when someone gave me a gift card for it

A couple of the tracks have become corrupted . . . if I download the song off the internet, is it legal since I do own the song?

The song I have still plays but there's a weird clicking sound in some areas

Have you tried re-downloading it from iTunes? I thought it kept track of which songs you have purchased and might allow you to re-download.

The thing is, I bought them off a different computer, then transfered them to THIS computer and authorized it (you're allowed 5 authorizations i believe)

Would it still work?

It would appear not.

Urgh, good thing it was only a few tracks . . .

but say I download them off the internet. It's still LEGAL since I PREVIOUSLY paid for it and the file got corrupted

as long as i dont share it, it should be okay

It's not illegal to download something you own. Only to share it.

I only buy cds. EAC + FLAC/Ogg. Only way to go.

Hmm, I tried it off the computer and iPod with my speakers, headphones, and apple earphones

same thing

It's actually only one song that you notice it . . . "Shut Up" by the Black Eyed Peas

It occurs around the 2 minute mark every time

edit: oh noes!! it's also in "Seven Nation Army" by The White Stripes

edit2: i'll try it on my laptop tomorrow. the songs were bought off of that

the 2 songs i bought on this comp work perferctly

if its the same on those, then . . . i'll see what i can do

i avoid P2P software because of spyware and all that other crap

edit3: URGH!! it's also on "Vertigo" by U2!!

Spyware... haha... get a BitTorrent client then. A FOSS one
