I got the idea for this topic from an episode of Law & Order. Say you commit a murder when you would normally be tried as a minor (13 or 14), but aren't caught for 10+ years. How would your case be handled? Would you be tried as an adult with special sentencing because of your age at the time of the crime? Would you be tried as a minor? Something else?

13 and 14 year olds can be tried as adults in this day and age, so if they catch you 10 years later, you're still going to jail for a very long time.

If I wrote the laws, murders would all be subject to summery execution after being found guilty.

Bailiff, your side are please. ;)

In this case you get tried according to the date of the crime committed, and not your present status. However, you will be sent to an adult correctional facility (prison) rather then a juvenile one.

I think.

10 years? statute of limitations runs out eventually doesnt it? ....
Statute of limitations does not not run out on murder.

Murders after '73, are I think(Maybe it was '67).

A law was changed a while back doing away with the statute of limitations on murder. Any murders comitted before the change are subject to the limitation(expo facto is illegal after all)
