I just want to say one thing I HAAAAAAATE MSN messenger .. It wiped out my dad's whole bootsector (it wasnt really the msn messenger, but a hacker, msn messenger is sooo easy to hack that even I could do it (and I did it .. just for testing purposes offcourse ;) this thing is even worse than back orrofice or sub7 ...

hehe current isp kicked me already out fer hacking and IP sniffing ...

http://astalavista.box.sk there you can find the tools to do it yerself .. togheter with all known security related bugs ... not going to risk a second warning just to give proof eh .. i know nuttin' of hacking .. it's just a tool I found ... (this prooves that even a newbie hacker is smart enough to do such things ... dunno if other proggies are better tho .. and if it is yer school system ..hehe go ahead .. you dont need hotmail .. you'll need to enter the account details tho ...
make sure you dont store too valuable data tho :D or install firewall ...

Well, since these two seem to ignore your question, I'll answer it. Yes, you do have to have a hotmail or passport (I think) account to use MSN Messenger.

Boran I am not going to turn you in. You won't get into any trouble.

I just see that you just talking out of your ass.......

Yes you have to have an MSN or hotmail address.

Jim

P.S. I will give you my IP address if you want so you don't have to sniff it.

Yeah I am EXTREMELY worried.

Only reason I decided to hassle him is because there are thousands of people running MSN messenger and if it was that easy to hack then MS would be forced to close the security hole. I have had my work computer hacked but that was because I was sloppy with my IIS installation. Now I have it on a pretty tight ship.

Boran you can save face now by admitting you were full of it. I don't deny you might have been hacked but I doubt it was because of MSN messenger.

okay okay I have to admit that I dunno IF it was msn messenger but it was the only thing that was open trough our firewall overnight so as far as I know of firewalls, the only way to get in is trough an already opened port ... it had to be happened trough msn messenger .. and I have been banned from my ISP because of packet sniffing and sub7 use (just experimenting y'know .. you have to try these things to know what yer talkin' about .. but I admit I dunno squat about basic hacking .. I just know how to use pre-made tools (said and admitted that I was a newbie hacker and that I dont go further in it because I lost intrest and it is kind of dangerous ... (sub7 can be reversably used if you accidentially fire up the client exe :D which has happened to me ... stupid me .. had to install virus check to remove it ..

hmm and another thing .. I'm very strong biased against microsoft .. I really hate them ... dunno exactly why .. has to be sumething with hormones... or bill gates annoying face ..

so when sumething bad happens I always blame it on the most rescent installed microsoft product (which has never been wrong .. till now I suppose ...

dont flame me for lacking knowledge ... teach me instead .. (damn .. got to put that in my sig ..)

I don't think you need to have hotmail account to use msn messenger.
You can sign up for a passport using your current e-mail address
and use your passport to login to msn messenger.
