Question about MP3 CD Player (RIO)

Hello,

I have a RIO SP100 MP3 CD player for a few years (I think) ... but now I have problems with it ... it has big troubles reading cd and starting to play : ( ... even with those CDs that it played absolutely normal before ...

and when he finally starts to play (if he does) then most of the time(not always) he pauses quite often 🙁

what can be the problem ?

How can I fix it ?

I would wager it's starting to go and will need to be replaced soon. I would try upgrading the firmware if you haven't already (the latest one before I sold mine was 2.10) and see if that helps.

I thought it was cute that you referred to it as a "he" 😀

I replaced my firmware to the latest of IRiver ... I believe they are the same players ... and their firmware from December .. as oposed to Rio's which is very old 🙁

(but it actually was doing even before I did that ... with 2.10 firmware I believe ) ...


Well, in russian language most things referred as "he" or "she" ... so, got used to that 🙂


also, can the laser be dirty or something ?
