Question about motherboards for AMD 1Ghz processor.

I was originally thinking about purchasing an AMD 800 thunderbird and an Abit KT7 motherboard...but processor prices have fallen and I'm now thinking about going with a 1Ghz instead. My question is if I still get the same KT7 motherboard won't I now be using the fastest possible chip for it? I think the KT7 supports 800Mhz to 1Ghz processors. So is there a board that supports 1Ghz to 1.2 or 1.4? I'm not sure if it really matters because I doubt I would ever upgrade to a chip that is only 200Mhz faster, but I guess I just like the fact that I could if I wanted. Thanks for any help.
