i just built new system using the motherboard that is in my signature below but have 1 concern, it is a shorter motherboard and there are 2 holes to screw into the case but there are no holes in motherboard tray to mount motherboard standoffs. is there someplace that sells something to support the motherboard without me having to drill my case? sorry if i am using the wrong terminology :)

Do you have bumps instead of standoffs? The case should have some kind of riser setup to raise the board above the sheetmetal to avoid contact. Either standoffs or bumps should work fine. You only need about 4-6 to line up with the board holes. Just don't leave any extra ones making contact with the circuitry of the board. For bumps, you can use the cardboard washers that come with the case screws. And if your board is utx or btx format, then the holes may not line up on a standard atx case.

i think i mislead you, 5-6 holes do line up. the problem is the one end of the motherboard where the power connectors and the memory slots are have no support under them so that when you go to install memory or power connector you have to be careful not to bend the board to much

I would install both the memory and cpu/heatsink before mounting the board. I'v installed large atx boards without the back 3 holes. And you can install the power connector without support if you're careful.

In situations like that I place a plastic standoff beneath the board - most cases come with these also. Sometimes you have to cut the standoff or modify to fit. This way i can get the board level on the tray on the four corners.
