Question about Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 4.0?

i <3 Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer series of mice. i've used the the Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 in the past. But the weight was to much for me during gaming despite its added freedom. Currently i'm using the 1.1 version. I'd like to upgrade to the latest 4.0 but the smooth scroll wheel could be a deal breaker. does anybody know if its possible to replace that wheel with another "threaded" wheel. anyinfo would be great. thx.

Probably not changable. I have the intellimouse 4 I think (not at home right now) and the scroll wheel is fine. You afraid of it being too slippy or something?

I think you will like the wheel just like it is. Remember to dl the new 5.2 intellimouse software.

That wheel is very nice actually... i don't knnow why anyone would like to change it. I don't personally have one, but I've used them before a few times... really nice 🙂 I guess it all comes down to personal prefrence... but I would recomend that you just use it for a while and get used to it. Microsoft didn't screw up... it's a very good product... just makes you use something that you're not 100% used to.

On the other hand there's probably no possible way to mod it either 🙂

You might have to tweak the scroll speed settings a little bit. But other than that it works great.
