Question about Memtest86

I am trying to run Memtest86 on my new build and must be stupid. I downloaded and unzipped the folder. Doubleclicked on install.bat, then when it said "enter target diskette drive" I put in "a:/" then pressed enter.

It did its thing and wrote something to the disk. I then proceeded to reboot and when the program loaded all I got was a weird screen with colored blocks and music notes.

Any ideas what went wrong? How am I suppose to do this?

IS that the including the exteneded tests ? 8-11? 4 passes is still probably finewiththe regular tests though.
 
no, I believe it was just the standard tests, I will look at the options and see if I can find how to run the extended tests? What the difference?
 
It just adds some more tests that test different things but these ones take a LONG time it took my rig like 2.5 hours to get through one pass.
