Question about memory and Intel 430TX chipset...

What would happen if you added more than 256MB of RAM in total on an Intel 430TX chipset?
For example, if there was 32MB soldered onboard the system, and you added a 256MB DIMM?

I don't think the TX chipset supports more than 256MB of SDRAM. The highest stick it can take is 128MB (2 sticks = 256MB) of low-density SDRAM. When you have more than 64MB in the board, the TX chipset may actually decrease performance because it can only cache 64MB of memory.
