Question about low noise cooling for 2x XP1600@2100 SMP System

Hello all. I'm in need of a computer right now, and that XP1600 deal on newegg is so sweet. The thing is though, I really want to push this to 2100+ speeds (the 133->166 bump), and am worried about cooling.

I know people here are raving about the SVC G68, but is it really enough to cool an overclocked system? Airflow itself should be fine, since I am going to be running 5 Panaflow's for case circulation, but these will be 3 hard drives in this system and two CPU's, so my case temps are going to be up there.

I was looking around for alternatives to the G68 if it would not be enough, and noticed there is a copper version of this for $4 more their site, linked here. I also noticed this version came with a different fan, but how much louder is it? I am spoiled with my P4 Stock cooler, and really don't want anything too much louder :(

Also, on their site for $10 more then the SVC G68 there is this heatsink, the Artic Cooling Super Silent Pro. I don't know how much better it is then the SVC G68 (if any), but the site rates it up to the XP2400 at the same volume level. I don't know if these are raitings the site gives, or if they are the ones the manafacture are giving.

Anyways, all advice would be appreciated. I really don't want to spend more then $15 on a cooler though. Since I am going SMP, my case temps will be elevated, so I have a fealing the SVC G68 might not be enough.

From what Ive seen, none of the dual boards can go up to 166. I think the Iwill supports overclocking, but there is no 1/5 divider, making the 166 fsb pretty much useless. I could be wrong, and I would love to be wrong.

You're asking for a lot there. You want a dualie to overclock to 166MHz and I agree with HendrixFan, I don't think there are any 760MPX boards that'll do that. You want it to be quiet and you don't want to spend over $15. I wonder if you have a power supply that can handle a dual-2100+ system, for starters, and I wonder if you understand that the dual system would actually be slower than a single when running a non-multithreaded program such as a game (because the fastest AMD chipsets available are the single-processor ones, at this point).

My vote would go to a copper-based Taisol from KD Computers ($15) if you're planning to try this anyway. Not utterly quiet, but not a hair-dryer screamer either.

I know, aside from cooling, what I am asking is a lot, and I have a thread going over at 2CPU.com about that aspect of this system. My power supply is up to task however, that I am sure of. I also know that SMP is not for the game, but I spend a LOT of cycles a week encoding, and for encoding SMP is a godsend, especially for people who are like me and have both fairly complex AVISynth scripts and CCE/VDub going at the same time. I am mainly interested in the cooling aspect here, and, well, if the SVC coolers can handle overclocked 1600's at 32db . . . oh man those have my name all over it. The problem is there is some contention about this, and that is why I am here for help (although I just realized that I posted this in the wrong forum, ment to put it in the cooling forum).

I have a 1600+ at 166MHz bus on a KT333 board. I do own a GC68 which seems to be about right for a 1.3GHz Duron or perhaps a stock 1500+ or 1600+. Expecting it to cool an overclocked 1600+ at 1750MHz seems a trifle much, unless it were given a more powerful fan. The next heatsink I'd think about is a Thermalright AX-7 with a Panaflo M1A 80mm or a YS Tech adjustable-rpm 80mm fan, but that falls way outside the desired budget. Beyond that, I guess there is still the Taisol I mentioned, which is 80mm long and could be retrofitted with an 80mm fan such as a Panaflo L1A if you don't like the noise level.
