Question about Logitech's MX610

I'm a lefty - it's true. That means that I usually have to stand back on the sidelines and watch all you right-handers get all the good ergonomic mice out there. It's unpleasant to say the least when all you want is a nice, comfy mouse to game with and they don't make them

Although this probably isn't news to many of you, I recently found out that Logitech made a left-handed version of their MX610. Now I know it's cordless so I'm not expecting lag-free bliss, but I'd like to know...is it a decent enough mouse that I would be able to squeeze some FPS fun out of it if I bought it instead of, say, a G3?

if you're looking at a G3, then go ahead and get a Razer. They're symetrical.

I've heard some not-so-great things about mx610 for gaming (jerky movement), but YMMV

The Razers are really nice, and it doesn't prefer either hand. I recently tried one out and it's much more comfortable than I expect, but only if you can get used to holding it with your fingertips rather than your palm.

I've held a Razer a couple of times before, but I didn't like it. It does seem to be constructed for someone who moves the mouse primarily with their fingers, but since I move it primarily with my palm it's uncomfortable to use and I'd rather not "learn" to move it with my fingers.

If not the G3, what would be a good mouse for a palm-moving lefty to use?

The MX610 isn't a bad mouse. I don't like mine for gaming, but that's because I use my fingertips to hold the mouse and not my palm. But since that's how you prefer to hold the mouse, I think you'd probably do okay with the MX610 as long as you have a good mouse pad or put some teflon pads on it - the stock ones are not terribly slippery.

As for jerky movements, I can't say I've noticed that. Cursor motion is lag-free as far as I can tell. The only problems I could see the MX610 having with gaming is that it seems to be a little susceptible to interference and it takes few seconds to 'wake up' if it's been idle for a while.
