So, I don't have the remote for my Denon AVR2800 and I don't know how to change the crossover settings and etc without it. I already tried all the buttons. I was wondering if the harmony can completely replace this remote. This would be wonderful to have as well because I can put all my other remotes away (have about 4 remotes I can get rid of).

The Harmony should do everything you want. Their software/database is pretty good.

When I bought my Harmony remote in 2005, I still had an old VCR from the mid-90s that I didn't have the remote for. All I had to do was enter the model number into the Harmony database, and it loaded all the controls into the remote. I've even heard of people controlling their ceiling fans with it :)

I like my Harmony but there are buttons on my DVR remote (Scientific Atlantic HD-DVR?) that makes it difficult to replace with the Harmony.

How so, you can always map out different buttons when you need them? Which model do you have.

I have that DVR. My Harmony 880 does everything the SA8300 HD remote does.

aside from the standard buttons (which are re-programmable) they have blank buttons that can be mapped to any function on your DVR... plus there is a LCD display so the buttons can be "labeled"

it really, really, really is a good purchase. i hate remote-swapping

I have the 880. I have it programmed for my MIL to use when she babysits but I guess I never spent enough time with it to replace my DVR remote.
