I've just installed the drive and have already burned a few discs, so everything seems to be working fine ... the thing is the highest WRITE speed I can select is 24X (this is with the Nero Software included with the drive) ... this is odd as its supposed to be a 32X burner right? Any help or info would be greatly appreciated :)

try downloading the most up-to-date version of nero. if that doesnt help, then maybe you need 32x media?

i'm not sure. more then likely, you need to upgrade your ver of nero.

that would seem correct unless you already have the latest version!

Thanks for the suggestions...and yes it actually turned out to be the media even though its rated/labeled at 32X, Nero detects them at 24X and will only allow that speed. Discovered this by trying out some Fuji's TY media (funny thing is these Fuji's are rated at only 16X) and the 32X option became available. Goes to show that having quality media does make a difference,

Again thanks for the help

I have Liteone 24x and burn 16x disc at 24x with no problem. The only media that I can't burn over the specified speed is the CDR-W.

I'm using 16X rated Samsung 80 minute CD's that burn just fine at 32X on my LiteOn 32. You can get 50 cd spindles of them at CompUSA for 20 bucks and they work great.
