Question about LCD Monitor and Windows XP Setup

I was trying to do a reinstall of XP off a CD (on bootup). And it loaded up the setup on the cdrom, and after copying over some files, my LCD monitor (1901fp) switches into saying "video mode not supported". I dont know how to get around this. Never had this problem with my CRT monitor. Any ideas?

Does the video card have RGB or DVI? Which is the monitor plugged into? I have seen a card (GeForce something I believe) which always defaulted to RBG without the correct drivers, even if the only monitor on the system was plugged into the DVI port.

The monitor has both DVI and VGA. Only the VGA is hooked up since the video card does not have a DVI out. (9600 AIW)

Never had a problem like that (using a Samsung SyncMaster 191T+, which I think is the same panel). I don't think setup ever tried to raise the refresh rate above 60hz (and the monitor will display an image to maybe 75hz, although 60 looks better). Hope yo ufigure it out

It gets past the part where it loads the first set of files, but before I have to do any type of input (such as telling it to format, or pressing F8 to agree). Ive done the Windows XP setup like a 100 times, and I dont ever remember the resolution changing at that point in the setup or anything that would prevent it from displaying.

Maybe there is a function key I can press when the setup starts to have it run in a special mode?
