The booth reviewed a Cowboy reception near the end of the game (was within the last two minutes) but after Romo had spiked the ball to stop the clock.

I thought a play couldn't be reviewed once the ball is snapped...or did the officials call for the review before Romo snapped it? I couldn't hear the explanation on TV because it is was so loud in the bar we were at...

They 'claim' the review came in before Romo snapped the ball. Tough spot to make a quick decision, I think the officials handled it right and Im a Cowboys fan who was screaming pissed when it happened.

I believe they called for the review before the snap.

It's tough in case like that for the ref to decide if they should look at it.

In the end, those yards really didn't make that big of a difference.

What would have made a difference was when TO caught the ball and put on foot down in bounds, but was then pushed out. He would have stayed inbounds if not being pushed, so it was a completed pass. The officials botched that one up BIG time as that was a difference making catch.

All reviews within the last two minutes of play in a half, come from the video officials that follow each play.

If it came from 'upstairs' - it nullifies any play errantly started.

Tony caught a break.

that pissed me off to no end. And of course, ESPN couldn't stop talking about how that was great officiating.
ESPN guy 1: "Hey George, what do you think of that ruling on the TO catch?"
ESPN guy 2: "George, which way did he go? Which way did he go?"
ESPN guy 3: "Uh George, I like that referee, I'll love him, and hold him, and keep him for my very, very own."

Yah ... sorry, but the guys on ESPN were all over the Bills nuts like Monica on a cigar. It was getting rather annoying, that I had to mute the TV. I felt like I was watching the NBA Finals again - they couldn't get off of LeBron.

Oh well ... there were some bad calls last night - and they need to make the last second time outs illegal. Say, that once the play clock hits 5, no more timeouts - or penalize for calling it, say like half way to the goal. Make it costly, but a way to psych them.
