Question about Kubuntu and vga settings

I'm currently running Kubuntu 7.04 with Nvidia graphic drivers installed for a 6600GT. I have a 19" LCD on the DVI @ 1280x1024, and a 32" LCD on the Analog. I use kdesu(and sudo) nvidia-settings to config each monitor. I apply settings, save to xconfig...BUT when I reboot the 19" is set back to 1024x768, the 32" is set at what it should be. I've tried editing xorg.conf directly with the same result. Has anyone had this problem before, am I overlooking anything?
