question about KT133 chipset

I know, I know, the KT133 is ancient histoiry, but I still am running A7Vs in my main machines. One has a 1.0GHz TBird that I have overclocked to 1300. I can get it to 1365 (105 x 13) but its not quite stable: sometimes it wont boot and I have to set it 1300 again to boot, then set back to 1365.

I was under the impression that the KT133 did not support a 133MHz FSB. I know it can run that high, but I remember hearing that it wouldn't work, and the chipset is unstable even marginally above 100MHz. However, a friend of mine says that he is pretty sure that you *can* do 133MHz on the board. So, my question is thus: Is it possible to run a 133MHz processor on this board, and, are there settings for the dipswitches to allow me to select 133MHz? According to both the manual and the silkscreen on the PCB, my only choices when dealing with the dipswitches are 100, 103, 105 and 110. thanx

The KT133 chipset is manufactured for 100MHz FSB. Although it will ususally go higher, posting a native 133MHz FSB proc in the CMOS will almost definitely give you problems. I could be wrong, as I've never tried it, but I would think it wouldn't work.

The KT133 will not go above 110 with stability.

The 133 in the name refers to it's ability to run memory @ 133MHZ asynchronously with the 100MHZ FSB.

I was afraid of that. I have also deduced the same thing from my recent experiments. I just sent the last 15 minutes or so trying all sorts of different combinations. I can only get the board to boot when the FSB is 105 or lower. Even then its iffy. I guess I'll have to settle for *only* 1.3GHz. thanx guys.

U'll have to. KT133 chipset mobo rarely go beyond 110 FSB. The most I've seen so far is at 112 FSB & stable.
