Wait, how can you guys be talkin NOS for K.I.T.T. when it wasn't supposed to have a piston powerplant? I thought it was supposed to have some new propulsion system, like a turbine of some sort maybe? I always found it funny that it sounded just like V8 most of the time.

I remember the SNL Weekend Update bit: "David Hasselhoff checked into the Betty Ford rehab center for alcohol treatment. Hasselhoff said he knew he had a problem when his car started talking to him."

Question about Knight Rider (K.I.T.T.)

Ya know, this thread kinda gets me thinking about possible spin-off series from the original, we'll just vary the equipment a bit...

here's what i've come up with so far...

1. Rice Rider. Instead of Turbo Boost and Super Pursuit mode, the car is equiped with expandable spoiler, neon underbody kits, and rims.

2. Ghetto Rider. The low budget program for the age of downsizing and cutbacks. Instead of using a Trans-Am, the starring vehicle is an Aztek. Instead of K.I.T.T., the computer's name is K.R.A.P.

3. iRider. Apple Computers takes a stab at designing the car. Instead of a Trans Am, they choose a Volvo. The car is named K.I.W.I (after its paint color, obviously), the engine has no fans, and only one pedal for both acceleration and braking. The car spends most of the show talking about the all the benchmarks he beats K.I.T.T. at.

Remember in the 80's there were cars that talked, and you could just go to the dealer and get them.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who still remembers Airwolf. And what channel still carries Knight Rider? I didn't know it was still on. Please tell me it's a basic cable channel.

I still think its the coolest thing...that and digital dashboard and pop-up lights.

Zemmervolt: in Toronto, Knight Rider comes on channel #20 (the New VR) every Saturday at 1AM. It's a basic channel.

One thing I didn't understand. Ok, look. Camera tricks aside, how did they do this? Suppose he's driving 40 mph, and he gets on to the truck ramp, he's STILL going 40 mph, so once his back tires hit the ramp, how did he not just fly through the semi?

And here's a little quiz question for you buffs: What did K.A.R.R. stand for? (The Evil Car.)

KNIGHT RIDER: GREATEST SHOW EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because of the differential movement of the semi. If he's driving 40 to catch the truck, you're fogetting the truck is moving as well. In such a situation, the speed you'd be travelling at once you hit the ramp would be your speed, minus the speed of the truck.

How about K.I.T.T XP ??

Anywayz I do remember a few weeks ago that David is wanting to revive the series. He will be the new "Devone" ? and they will still have the same old Trans Am as K.I.T.T. He supposedly goes out and finds some kid that he tries to help out and has him become the next Knight Rider....and yes Im serious. :) I hope "Mr. Finey" comes back as the voice of KITT

Although I think this idea will flop from the beginning, I would L O V E to see the show on a weekly basis. I grew up on Knight Rider, Airwolf, and MacGyver. I would give almost anything to even see reruns.

How come nobody has mentioned Bonnie Barstow? Wasn't she a hottie? I was only 12 or so at the time. ;)

I don't know about a new series, but I did see that when Hasselhoff talked to reporters about his stint at Betty Ford, he did say that he was hoping to produce a new feature film based on the ORIGINAL series and NOT one of those stupid spinoffs.

I wouldn't mind them reviving the series. Just as long as they use the F-bod. They would have to buy used of couse.
