I have a palm rest on my keyboard which i use and my palms rest on them. But those cheap rectangle keyboards that there is no place to rest your palms. And you have to rest the palms on the table. causing you not to reach the top row of keys and makes u type with your palms in the air held up.

and also my friend says putting the legs up on the back of the key bard is bad and can add to the damage.

So which way is the safest and which is the most dangerous. For me or my family not to get an types of wrist hand injury from using a keyboard.

Thanks

i personally don't put the legs up because it's not comfortable for me, whatever you feel comfortable is equal to safe in my opinion

Keep adjusting the keyboard until you find a way that best fits you.

Hi, I'm a touch typist. I do not rest my wrists on anything. I also use the props as it is more comfortable to me. There is no way the props are going to damage anything.
Good Luck, Jim

I believe that an execive amount of typeing in any setup can lead to Carpal Tunnel. If you listen to most authorities, they say that you shouldn't rest your palms on anything when you type, and your screen should be almost eye level straight in front of you so you don't have to turn your neck. But in the end, I'm with HiME, if it feels comfortable its probably the best way for you.

we say different. carpals rarely burrow in these parts.

Correct hand position while typing is a straight line betweeen the top of your wrist and the back of your hand. If you need a wrist pad to line that up, fine. If you need to prop up the back of the keyboard, fine. Whatever works as long as your hands are in the correct position.

For me, when I'm writing or doing anything where I do need to type a lot, I actually use the front prop that came with my MS 4000 ergo. Definitely takes some getting used to but makes life much easier when you do.
