I remember reading somewhere, im pretty sure it was this forum but i cant seem to find it when searching. That when install Kaspersky AV it re-wrights the header of everyfile on your system to speed up AV scans. There was an ontion to turn this feature on/off when install KAV.
I just install KAV 6.0 and i did not see such an option.

I am just tring to find infomation on this subject.

Anyone have any idea what im talking about?

they removed that option.

it's called Alternate Data Streams. I forget which version it was (5, i assume) but they took out that option from disgust of their users in version 6.

dont QFT me .. but i think that's the story.

The feature is called, IChecker for fat32 and iStreams for NTFS partitions.
As far as i can tell this feature is Still a part of KAV.

I use AV programs to stop the altering of files. This kinda bugs me that KAV does this, and you have to use a utilitie to remove the info KAV has writen to every file.
