Question about jury duty in the state of CA

I sat in a room for 3 and a half hours waiting to be called to be interviewed for a panel. Only until the very end did they start calling people. I wasn't one of the people called but I still will have to come back at 1:30pm. Right now I'm on lunch break. They said the latest they would hold us is until 4:30pm. Now if they don't call me for another 3 hours when I return, am I safe? or do I have to friggin come back tomorrow morning to see if I get called again?

when i went for federal i went in for one day and they told me i dont have to come back since I wasnt called

its hard to pay attention when they wake you up so early to make you sit in a room full of people for a chance that you might get called. there's nothing better to do but doze off 😛

they will let you know before you go if they need you to come back. In Sac county, when yer called yer caleld for the week. SO they could make you do that all week, but usually if you dont get called that day they excuse you.

that must have been a while ago, because now the entire state of CA uses the "one day or one trial" system.

Depends on the county, the programs are different around the state...
