I heard iPods have an "antenna" attachment that allows you to play your mp3s "wirelessly" through your car's radio.

I have an iRiver 256mb flash mp3 player.

Will this attachment work for the iRiver, or any other portable device with a stereo mini plug for that matter? Or is this Apple's proprietary technology?

TIA

There are universal ones available at your local walmart or other "everything" store that is probably a lot cheaper and will work on anything with a headphone jack. Dont get the ipod one.

The ones for the iPod are specifically designed to use the 3.5mm phono plug but it also has a ring around it that draws its power from the iPod battery, so it wouldn't work with your iRiver.

There are other ones though that use the standard 3.5mm plug with no special ring and uses a AA battery for power.

Here's one that uses the AC cigarette lighter adapter.
