Ok, I don't know how many of you remember IntelliPoint 4, but there was the ability to assign keystrokes to your mouse keys as well as assign things like Alt+Tab. I LOVED these features because I could use the otherwise useless middle mouse button to bring up my Trillian windows (with keystroke Alt+Shift+A) and the small thumb button was Alt+Tab....well, now with my Wireless Intellimouse 2.0 I have a decision to make....either dont use the tilt wheel and keep my alt tab and and keystrokes, or be able to use my tiltwheel and just be SOL on the other functions....

UNLESS....and this is why I'm here....someone out there knows some way around this!

If anyone has any clues about this I would be eternally gratefull!

Yes, but its related to hardware....if I had driver problems with a video card I would put it in General hardware....IP is, more or less the drivers for MS mice....

Seemed like a grey area to me.

I installed intellipoint 5, and now have bindable keys.

because I uninstalled 5.0 POS and installed 4 instead (IP4_0EngNoMsi.exe - i thought there was a 4.1/4.2 somewhere though). No idea why they took it out, its the best feature of the mouse by FAR.

Heh, that doesn't help much, because 4.0 doesnt support the tilt wheel....
And as a matter of fact I'm having trouble getting it to bind anything to the mouse wheel button.

I wish I could say I was happy with tilt wheel. Mine is so stiff I have to hold the mouse like a life preserver to get it to actuate. I was expecting more from 5.0 as well. :frown:

Here another thing thats odd. If I tilt the wheel to the left, it clicks, and DOESNT perform the middle click operation, yet I cant configure this button....and I will definitely agree that the button is stiff as all get out! It tilts fine, but holy crap you have to drop a brick on it to get it to click.

IP 5 is the dumbest idea ever.

No more robust mapping features in the IM drivers? Ouch. Time to check out Logitech.
