Question about Intel thermal protection...

People have been reporting tremendous overclocks with their P4s... but let's say you have a 2GHz that overclocked to 2.7 easily... but temp goes up to 42c -50c...with the best coooling that's practically possible... and the whole setup is rock stable... would the thermal protection kick in and effectively just downclocks the CPU back to a lower speed?
 
Finally going to give up the S370? I was also running an overclocked PIII-S 1.26 @ 1520 before I moved to the 1.6A @ 2.4. Big improvement.

Ha! But see when i do... it'll snowball from there... 😀 ...like i'd want a 9700 along with it... and so on... and im just about done with my debt... 🙁 But since you said big improvement... there goes excuse #2... 😕
