Question About Installing unlisted supported-CPU in Notebook

I have a T7300(Merom) cpu that I installed into a 14" MSI-1432 whitebook(Intel GM45 chipset), and I want to know:


1. My T7300 is not listed under supported CPU for Intel GM45 and uses more power than the intended Penryn CPU; Will the increase in power consumption cause damage to components (battery, motherboard, cpu, etc...)?

2. Is it likely that running this unsupported-CPU will shorten life span of certain components, or cause malfunction in Windows?

3. Is there a notable difference in heat output between TDP of 25W and 35W? My T7300 is at 35W TDP and the fan exhaust is kind of warm even when I am just browsing the bios.



Any thoughts?

There are chances it wouldn't even boot.
I have tried to install a T6400 ( penryn ) on Asus W5F 945GM laptop ( because, I still love its brownish alumium casing ) and it just wouldn't boot.

you may also overload the CPU cooler and cause damage to the chip

A 40% increase in heat. That's pretty significant.

For a laptop system, I wouldn't install a CPU that's not listed as supported, especially one with a larger TDP. It's just too disastrous if you screw up anything. This isn't like messing with a desktop.

I installed Windows 7 on the notebook to test it out, and things seems to be ok. I will monitor the temps for a few days and let you guys know if something blows up.

Do you mean there is a 40% increase in heat between T7xxx and P8xxx? I have done quite a bit of research for benchmarks and forums between the two but haven't seen any substantial reports about the temps. Care to share a link ?

yea... it is a pain to repair a notebook and I have experienced it. However, the reason i decided to try it was because there are also Penryns that are rated at 35W TDP. The difference in power rating between T7300 and P8600 is only about 0.05v; that should be ok?
