Question Question about installing second SSD as storage

My current storage drive is a 860 EVO SSD Sata III 1TB. I recently ordered the 2TB version of the same drive to add as storage.

I build and upgrade my own computers, but I've never actually added a second storage drive. Is it as simple as plugging in the sata and power cables? Or, is there something I will need to do to format etc? Any help would be appreciated.

What OS are you running? Assuming Windows, you will need to initialize the drive GPT and format it NTFS. You can do this in computer management => Storage => Disk Management.

Yes I am running Windows 10 Home. Thanks for the help. I just found a good tutorial on youtube. It looks pretty simple.

Great drives. I have added several drives (both disk and SSD) for storage. No pb at all. You just need to go to computer manager and initialize the drive.
