Question about IDE cables..... PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi folks!

I know this is a silly question, but anyways:

If I'm connecting only one IDE device to an IDE cable that has two plugs (actually three: 1 for the mainboard and two for IDE devices), should I plug the device on the plug that is on the middle of the cable or on the plug that is on the end of the cable??

Of course, the IDE device is set to MASTER....
