Question about Ibm Thinkpad x24

hey guys i just purchased an X24 off my friend pretty cheap. It's a great fast laptop but the only downfall is the sound. I updated the sound drivers in Xp from Ibm's website, but the volume is all the way up in Wave and Master to be considered normal listening. Is there any way to boost this a bit? Any suggestions or comments highly appreciated, thanks!
 
Similar problem here with an X20, I found out the solution too, plug it into the ultrabase and it should get louder. Of course, if you're using the onboard speaker, that little thing's not too good anyway.
With earphones, it's loud enough to sound loud at full volume, but I guess with larger headphones, the low volume could pose a problem
