Question about HyperTerminal

OK I have started playing around with some print servers. Right now I have a Lexmark Marknet Xle external print server that I am messing with. If I type it's ip address into IE's address bar I can go in and see all the info about it. But when I hyperterminal into it and get to the menu screen where I can change the info such as ip, gateway, SM and such the session does not respond to any input. I know that you configure routers this way but I have never done it with a print server. Any suggestions. Btw the print server does work but it is using DHCP. I want to assign it as static.

I would have thought you would use telnet for that, not hyperterminal...

I have tried telnet but it will not let me connect. I finally gave up and just ftp'd the config file into the box.
