Question about HP LC2000 server disks...

I've started to run out of space on my home server, and I resent having to pay god knows how much for large capacity HP hotplug disks. Am I right in saying that these servers use completely standard SCSI SCA drives in the hotplug plane? And are there any problems in me buying a pair of IBM Ultrastars for example and replacing those drives with the disks that I've already got (HP 18Gb) - i.e. unscrewing the drives from the housing, replacing the drives then slotting them back into the hotplug cage?
