Question about how much OGR work to cache

I went to the TA Speed page and put in my P133 and it said my P133 will do 44 OGR WU's per day. I want a week cache so I multiplied this by 7, and put 308 as the number of WU's for the DNet client to cache. Is this correct?

:Q :Q :Q

My K6-2/450 does 1-2 stubs/day and OGR has always been confusing as to the number of units per stub, due to the variable-sized stubs.

You may want to watch how long it takes to do a stub and how many units that equals and then calculate. 🙂

Yeah, it hasn't even finished 1 stub yet, so I think I just cached a years worth of work. :Q

Any mathmatical way to figure this out?

Hey - I did the same damn thing on my pproxy. It's pretty bad.😛 BUT... if I do move all my K62s (I have 3) over to it, then maybe I'll clear it out by next year... LOL.

Yes Poof, please do move your K6's over to OGR - we are still in first place ahead of the DPC
and your K6's would definitely help!
I also got a lot of WU (50) for my P133... It can run for a very long time without connecting - it does not have a permanent connection to the net right now so I guess that's OK.

Wiz - not sure if you're following some of the other threads here but there's been talk of a possible boycott of Dnet projects by TA... Some have already started doing this. The DPCs are now actively discussing what they might do on their board and the consensus (from some PMs by one of their members) is that they're waiting to see what TA does. I was thinking of continuing, stocking up on my pproxy, but holding the flushes, depending on what the majority decide to do. In the meantime, I can switch the K6-2/500 over. 🙂

Yes, I have seen a little of that - all seems to be in relation to RC5 though - prolly because that's the most popular project. I suppose that OGR would also fit in there. The thing is it would take cooperation between the biggest teams to pull it off - an equal stand down (equalateral disarmament) so that none of us takes advantage.

Wiz, the boycott includes OGR, since it is DNet, too. I have my machines off DNet projects for now. If DNet does the right thing, I'll come back. Otherwise, SETI has more power headed it's way from me for awhile.
