Question about heat output...

With my current rig in the sig my processor always seems to be running hot. Now I just got an 8800gt and my temps increased by around 3-4 degrees (45 idle). Because of this I enabled speedstep but have not notices ANY improvement in temps. Idles at 1.25 volts @ 2.6 with the the same temp! Is the high fsb causing such high temps or is my chip just a warm running chip!?

Update- Set back to stock settings (266x8) dropped vcore to the lowest value (1.19) and only 3 degree change 🙁 Only a 9 degree difference from idle to load temps though! Should I reseat the hsf and put new thermal compound on?

What was your idle to load swing @ 3.5 Ghz? BTW, what heatsink are you using? It doesn't sound like you need to reseat your HSF, though.

At 3.5 idle is 43 w/ load around 58
