Question about HDTVs

Hey! I have a question. I am in the market for a new tv (approx 27") and it looks like HDTVs are the wave of the future. I haven't been to my electronics store yet but what should I expect? What is the starting price like for one of these tvs? I guess I am going to go with HDTV ready (to watch my dvds) b/c I can't afford $2000+ for a television.

the tvs themselve will cost you around 2k

godd HDTVs 16x9 and support 480i, 480p, and 1080i, if you want to actually watch TV Broadcast in HD you will have to buy a tuner and a rooftop antenna

i Dont think you can find any tube HDTV for less then $2k (including tax XOR shipping)

rear projections tend to be cheaper then tube hds you might be able to find some around 1500 for a smal rear projection, mitsubishi and pioneer make good rp HDtvs

Well I have a RCA F38310 38" Widescreen TV and it seems to be the best bang for the buck right now (2400 at BB so you can get it cheaper).... What I like about ti is that it has a HDTV reciever/decoder builtin. So all you need is an antenna or DirecTV elliptical dish and you cna get HDTV.... And if you purchase any DirecTV programming package you get all the HDTV channels free. Right now theres only 2 HBO and HDnet but there is supposed to be a new one coming soon. But HDnet is really worth the price of a dish... The Olympics and Major League Baseball in HD
