Question about Hard drive encloser

I have an encloser I wanted to know after that harddrive is plug in and spinning do I jsut remove the usb and power to take it with me. or what do I do so I wont ruin the harddrive.

Down at the bottom-right, just left of the clock, are all your (hidden) system tray icons. Press (< ) to show them, then click the one for "Safely Remove Hardware."

It will list removable / hot swappable drives including your enclosure. Pick the enclosure, wait for the message saying it's safe.

Well I hit stop then it says its safe but the hard drive is still spinning.

Sure, but all Windows data has been written to the drive. It is now safe to unplug and turn off.
