Not taking into account the temperature extremes experienced in a car, is a hard drive durable enough to run continuously in a car traveling down an interstate? Is there a regular IDE drive (not flash drive, too expensive) that is more durable than most others?

Thanks

Also, just to be clear, with a duron CPU work in a socket 370 mobo? Or is that just K6's?

Is a 900Mhz Celeron beefy enough for DVD playback? Or what factors effect DVD playback?

Try a Via C3 with a Radeon LE. C3 can run without a fan so less noise and Radeons have good DVD platback. Also, 2.5" laptop HD's are a little more expensive but they are designed to withstand shocks etc. a nice 256 MB of PC133 RAM on a microATX board and you are set, you could also consider getting a laptop.

Durons do not work in socket 370 nor did K6's.

The reason I ask is because I am purchasing this Text and want to integrate a removable DVD/navigation system into my van. Doesn't look like a raedon is an option, but do you think this mobo could handle DVD playback? I am considering using the 1 PCI slot for a TV tuner card

Is there such a thing as an adapter cable the converts a ATA-33/66/100 slot to a laptop (2.5in) drive?

Also, does anyone know, can you boot off of a USB or Firewire hardrive?
